VODKA MARTINI

EXTRA DIRTY EXTRA DRY VODKA MARTINI WITH 3 OLIVES - OF COURSE!

Making a martini is a really personal thing.
If you prefer gin to vodka, go for it.
If you like it less dry, with more vermouth, skip the first step and add the vermouth with the vodka and brine.
The more you stir the cocktail with ice, the more diluted it will become as the ice melts - so stir as long as you wish.
Thank you to Stanley Tucci for the inspiration and courage to learn to make my own martinis!

Chill glasses.
Skewer olives.
You will need a glass beaker or cocktail shaker, lots of ice and a stirrer

60 ml vodka, from the freezer
20 ml dry vermouth
20 ml olive brine (or less, as you prefer)
3 fat olives

Fill the beaker with ice and pour in the vermouth. Stir 15 seconds, then let sit 30 seconds. Stir again, then strain out and discard vermouth. Pour vodka into the beaker and stir 30 seconds. Let sit 30 seconds, then stir again 30 seconds. Add olive brine and stir again. Strain cocktail into a chilled glass. Garnish with olives.
